Padel rules in brief
Six things worth knowing before your first match.
There are glass walls at both ends of the court, and glass and mesh along the sides.

Played 2 vs 2
Padel is played in pairs on a court enclosed by glass and mesh. It is smaller than a tennis court, so you find your rhythm fast.

Underarm serve
Bounce the ball behind the service line, hit it below the waist, diagonally into the opponent’s box. You get two tries.

Floor first
After your shot the ball must bounce on the floor on your opponents’ side. Only then may it hit the glass.

The glass is in play
Once the ball bounces on your side, you can still return it after it comes off the glass. That is the best part of the game.

When you lose a point
Two bounces on your side, the net, or a ball that hits your opponents’ glass before bouncing.

Scoring like tennis
15, 30, 40, game. Sets to six games. If you know tennis, you know the scoring.

A first session with a coach for people who have never played. Rules, grip, serve and your first rallies.

A social format with rotating partners. Everyone plays with everyone and points count individually. A great way to meet people.

Mexicano
Like Americano, but pairs in later rounds are set by results, so you play with people at a similar level.
